Personal attention, international faculty

Students in all levels will receive personal attention from master teacher Lilla Séber, learn from her international faculty, including guest teacher Roudolf Kharatian, in small group, semi-private and private classes.

Spots are limited.

For Classical Ballet Summer Intensive 2019, our small group classes will be capped at 15 students, while our semi-private classes will be capped at 8. Register early to assure your place in the program and on the weeks you would like to attend!

Age Groups

Our fourth annual Classical Ballet Summer Intensive 2019 will take place from July 1, 2019 to August 16, 2019 at 4908 Wisconsin Ave. N.W. Washington, D.C. 20016. Consecutive weeks are recommended, but we allow for week by week arrangements.

Daily Schedules

Monday to Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Saturday, July 6 will be used as a makeup for July 4.

Our dancers always come away with great technical improvement both in advancing the best aspects of their talent and in overcoming unproductive habitual patterns. This allows students to soar to new technical heights and truly find joy in the art of dance!

Audition Information

Please bring two recent photos to your audition:

  1. First arabesque
  2. Tendu a la seconde

Photographs will not be returned.

Ladies should wear a solid color leotard and full-length pink tights with ballet slippers.

Men should wear white t-shirts and full-length black tights.

Acceptance and Enrollment Process

Upon completing the open or in-class auditions, students will receive a letter indicating acceptance, wait-list, or non-acceptance within 2 weeks.

Accepted students will receive an invitation letter along with the registration documents detailing policies, fees, deadlines. The Letter of Agreement of the Registration documents must be signed and returned within 3 weeks of acceptance.

Those wishing to be invited into the year-round program are encouraged to attend at least 2-3 weeks of our summer intensive. Priority is given to students attending Classical Ballet Summer Intensive 2019.

Audition Types

Dancers can audition three different ways:

  1. In-Class Audition
  2. Video Audition
  3. Private Audition
In Class Audition

Please contact us to schedule an audition in an appropriate class level for you dancer. All auditions are conducted by Ms. Séber. Students/Parents will receive a short training guideline after the audition.

Audition fee: $25

Video Audition

Video submissions should be approximately 10-15 minutes in length.

At the beginning of the video, list your name and age, the number of years of ballet/dance study, the number of years of pointe work (if applicable) and the name of your current school.

The video should demonstrate barre and center exercises, including tendus, adagio, all versions of pirouettes studied, petit, medium, and grand allegro, tours en l’air for men, pointe work and fouetté for ladies. You may also include a classical ballet variation or other dance solo if desired.

For clear visibility, ladies should wear a solid color leotard and full-length pink tights with ballet slippers, while men should wear white t-shirts and full-length black tights.

Private audition and Consultation

This is a one-on-one audition with Ms. Séber, where parents are invited to observe. It can last from 1 hour to 1.5 hours, which also allows for addressing any questions a student or a parent may have in regards to training.
